Richard Whiteheads East Texas Folkart Lures

I started off with my carving with an old pine knot I found in a creek. I let it dry and bought me a gouge and made an eye and mouth on it and just painted one side. A lady saw it and offered me $55 and wanted more. I have made Hummingbirds, ducks, geese and other birds out of them but now I can't find the good old pineknots to make anything so I thought I'd try to make a lure to fish with. I saw how much fun it was and made the Teeth lure that Adam Hartmann posted and it sold for $75. I made all of those out of old broom, shovel and hoe handles I found broken then went to the Cypress wood and that is what I use mostly now. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!hehe Rich

The two lures above were purchesed from Richard Whitead. They a fine example of his fine lure making skills. As you can see he goes out of his way to please his customers. He double boxed the frog lure and added a special order tag on the side of the wood box as a special surprise to me.

If you are a lure carver he can supply you with boxes and print any kind of labels you need.

Richard Whitead is very well known for his folkart lures. He has his own artistic flare that is like none other.

He always has a few of his beauties on hand for sale and is always willing to fill special orders. Email him and place an order anytime. You will not be disappointed.
