Chuck Meldrum is a well
known carver in Eastern Michigan. He started carving in 1988 and has carved hundreds of nice decoys over the
years. I collect his very early undated decoys as shown on this page. He didn't start dating them until 1991.
These are not for sale but I have other newer ones on this site for sale. Read about the Man: Chuck Meldrum

When Chuck started carving in 1988 he just signed his initials on the bottom of the decoy. By 1990 he some times signed his
name and his initials. In 1991 he started signing the date too on the bottom. This decoy is only initialed so it is one of his very early ones. I collect only the early ones because they bring premimum dollars if you ever decide to sell them. They are very scarce to find. He didn't carve many in the early days. I live near Chuck so I can get new decoys in any size you want if you decide to add a few to your collection. |

This is a very early undated silver and black decoy. |

This is a really beautiful Blue and White early undated decoy. |

This cat is a later one dated 1992. |

I love this one. Look at the real primative paint job. It had to be one of his very earliest Gar. Really cool. |

Here we have two very early Red and White decoys. One is slightly smaller than the other. This is one of the best colors for a working decoy. Now his red and white decoys are mostly white with red head and tail. |
