Tom Holloman

I guess I got started carving in 2000. I had been fly fishing for many years and like to use poppers for small mouth. well being a lure collector too I decided to try to make a popper similar to a heddon pop eye frog, and it really caught the fish. From there my collection of old baits moved toward Paw-Paw / moonlight baits. I really liked the Wotta-frog so I decided to try to make something like that and the darn thing caught fish too. Well I started surfing the web and found the Carver comp web site and saw some really great stuff. That's were I discovered fish decoys. and figured id try that too. So far the lures and decoys I have made are mostly carved from Basswood, except for the first few baits, I made them from pine and poplar scrap I took from old skids at work. all are carved by hand, and i try not to use any power tools at all. I mainly make these to fish with and a few for friends, I only sell a few and would much rather trade for something to ad to my collection of hand carved baits and decoys. any way thats how i got started. if you have anything to trade let me know "FISH ON" TOM.
